It was first developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment in March 2014 and distributed through Blizzard’s battle.net. The lore of Hearthstone was originally based on Warcraft but has quickly outgrown that mythos. Hearthstone pits two players against each other. Players use their mana crystals to play abilities or summon creatures to attack the opponent, trying to defeat the opponent's hero.
